RASA

Construir un cocktail lounge gastronómico indio contemporáneo sin caer en los clichés de siempre

RASA was born with a very clear intention: to reinterpret Indian culture through a contemporary, sophisticated and deeply human lens.

We didn’t want to build “another Indian restaurant. Nor a concept filled with visual clichés and obvious references.

The idea was different: to create an intimate space where gastronomy, cocktails, hospitality, music and design all speak the same language.

A place with its own identity.
With rhythm.
With detail.
With soul.

A project built from scratch

We were involved in all phases of the project development: from the initial concept to the full operational build-out of the business.

And there was an important challenge here: translating deeply rooted cultural references into a contemporary, accessible experience connected to Madrid, without losing authenticity along the way.

Because when a cultural concept is oversimplified, it loses its truth. And when it becomes too complex, it stops connecting.

The key was finding balance.

Gastronomy and cocktails with a real narrative

The culinary offer was built around flavours inspired by different regions of India, designed in a social format made for sharing, grazing and accompanying the rhythm of the cocktail experience.

Snacks.
Tapas.
Small plates.
Intense flavours.
High attention to detail.

But always avoiding caricature or easy “thematic” storytelling.

Cocktails were also developed as part of the project’s narrative, using ingredients, aromas and regional references to build a coherent experience from start to finish.

Everything had to feel connected: the bar, the music, the service, the lighting, the menu, and even the rhythm of how things happen inside the space.

Building an experience, not just a restaurant

We worked alongside specialised branding and interior design studios to develop a visual and spatial identity aligned with the concept’s sensibility.

Every decision aimed to move away from the typical imagery associated with Indian dining and towards a more elegant, warm and contemporary approach to hospitality.

The intention was never to impress. It was about creating atmosphere.

Because there are places where you eat well… and places where things happen.

Operations, hospitality and internal culture

One of RASA’s most important pillars was not only gastronomy.
It was the construction of a hospitality culture capable of truly sustaining the concept.

Because you can have a spectacular space, an incredible menu, and flawless cocktails.
But if the guest doesn’t feel good in the space, everything else loses its impact.

From the beginning, we understood that RASA needed more than good dishes and good aesthetics.

It needed a concrete way of making people feel something.

That’s why we developed the full operational and cultural structure of the project:

  • Kitchen and front-of-house processes
  • Service flows
  • Operational protocols
  • Internal manuals
  • Employee culture code
  • Service and hospitality philosophy

But beyond the technical side, the goal was to build a shared culture.

That everyone involved in the project understood something very simple:
the experience doesn’t end when the plate arrives.
The experience is how the guest feels when they walk out the door.

We built a hospitality approach based on:

  • Authentic warmth
  • Active observation
  • Attention to detail
  • Cross-functional work between bar, kitchen and front of house
  • Calm issue resolution
  • Team ownership

Because in the end, the spaces that leave a mark are not only those with great product.
They are the ones that make people want to come back without quite knowing why.

A project built across multiple layers

RASA was one of those projects where everything moved in parallel: construction, branding, gastronomy, licensing, operations, suppliers, recruitment, communication and business development.

Our role was to coordinate all these layers without losing sight of what mattered most: ensuring the project remained coherent from the initial idea through to the first service.

Because in hospitality, when every decision goes in a different direction, the guest notices it — even if they can’t explain why.

Result

RASA became a space where gastronomy, cocktails, design and culture operate as part of a single narrative. A project developed from a very complete vision of hospitality: experiences built with real intention.

Because in the end, the spaces that leave a mark are not the ones that shout the loudest. They are the ones that make everything feel coherent without needing to be explained too much.
