Confidential

When the problem wasn’t the product, but the way it was being communicated.

During a sales analysis for a luxury hotel, we identified an interesting situation.

The cocktail programme had quality, a strong identity, and was perfectly aligned with the venue’s positioning. However, the data told a different story. Cocktail sales were performing well below their potential.

Looking beyond the recipe.

When analysing consumer behaviour, we discovered that the problem wasn’t the offering itself.

It was in the way it was presented.

The menu did little to help guests discover the cocktails, the storytelling was virtually non-existent, and the connection to the hotel’s history was being completely overlooked.

Because customers are often not buying just a product. They buy the meaning behind it.

The intervention focused on reshaping the way the offering was perceived by guests. The idea was simple: to help the menu sell more effectively what already existed.

Results

The new approach increased cocktail sales while strengthening the role of beverages within the overall guest experience.

A project that demonstrates something we see time and again in hospitality: it’s not always necessary to change the product. Sometimes, all it takes is telling the story better.

Because the difference between a drink that goes unnoticed and one that guests remember often comes down to a compelling story.
